Crab Island

Today my wife and I had the honor of attending a ceremony celebrating the historic battle near Crab Island that took place 208 years ago today. On September 11th 1814, Commodore MacDonough, and a group of soldiers that were under his command, were able to hold off the British on Lake Champlain in a historic battle. The significance of Crab Island to this was that it housed a military hospital. Many soldiers were brought to the island and treated. Unfortunately over 50 American soldiers perished, and Crab Island became a burial site. The importance of this battle cannot be emphasized in words, and Commodore Macdonough and his brave fleet of men again demonstrated that freedom is never free. Thank you again to everyone that made this trip to Crab Island possible, and for continuing the education of this significant event in our nations history!๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Paul Harrington; Author and Former CO

It was great to meet Paul Harrington today while at the Franklin County Fair, Malone NY . This is yet another issue faced by our heroes that keep our communities safe, and it needs to be resolved. Lee Zeldin at Pasquale's in Peru

We had a great time at Pasquale's Restaurant and Bar in Peru, NY, as we welcomed our next governor of NY, Lee Zeldin and his wonderful family this afternoon! The energy was great, and it was a pleasure to discuss the issues facing the North Country with Mr. Zeldin, such as the disastrous decision that NYS is looking into, that would lower the threshold for overtime at farms across NYS, which in return, would have devasting impacts on local, family owned farms. Together Mr. Zeldin and I will bring great, and much needed change to New York! It was an honor to meet the next governor today!

Repeal the HALT Act Fundraiser

Today I had the pleasure of hosting the "Repeal the HALT Act" Fundraiser in Malone. The HALT Act has been extremely detrimental for NYS Prisons, and has led to a 30% increase in violence since it's inception just a few months ago. I was honored to be joined at this event by Congresswoman Elise Stefanik , and other Republicans, whom share the same view as I do, that we MUST return the power of NYS Prisons back to the Correctional Officers, that work long hours, in dangerous conditions, to keep our communities safe. Jamie Rose Power Walk 2022

Today I had the honor of attending "The Jamie Rose Power Walk: Break the Silence of Domestic Violence Event", at the Municipal Park in Tupper Lake, to raise awareness, and to confront the issue of Domestic Violence. Jamie Rose was an extremely valuable member of her community. A mother, a daughter, a friend, her life tragically ended 5 years ago, at the hands of domestic violence. Confronting domestic violence needs to be a multi-faceted approach; a community approach, every victim must be supported, and be given the knowledge of resources and assistance available to them. We as a community, owe it to Jamie, and all victims of domestic violence, to bring forth justice and reform. We must put an end to domestic violence!
